I’m not sure why I never think to go into Paris Texas as much as I should when I’m in Kilkenny. Went in today and had the crispy chicken wrap and honestly, I couldn’t believe what came out for €12.95. Nowadays for that price I’d nearly expect a skinny little wrap and a handful of chips, and sadly I’d probably just accept it because that’s the way prices have gone. But this was a proper feed. The wrap was packed, really tasty and there was a serious portion of chips with it. Definitely well worth the money and I’ll be going back. Fionn was looking after the floor as well and deserves a mention. Young guy, really friendly, on the ball and very good at his job. Wow. What a bar and restaurant. Incredible food and met an incredible bar man called Chris. The most knowledgeable man I've ever met behind a bar. Food was so good we came for lunch an went back for dinner. Good service and excellent food. I ha full rack of ribs and applejack sauce was delicious. Myself and a group of friends went for a birthday party. We had the lovely Ruth and Fionn taking care of us. They absolutely smashed it. They couldn't have been more attentive. Everything was delicious, would highly recommend the fish with Smokey chips 😍 Es hat uns allen (2 Erwachsene und 3 Kinder U10) sehr gut geschmeckt. Bardzo fajne miejsce w Kilkenny. Byłyśmy tutaj na obiedzie i jesteśmy naprawdę zadowolone. Restauracja ma ciekawy wystrój w amerykańskim stylu, trochę w klimacie klasycznego amerykańskiego baru i smokehouse’u. Jest dużo miejsca, wnętrze ma swój charakter, a dodatkowo bardzo podobało nam się przyjemne patio.Obsługa była bardzo miła, sympatyczna i uśmiechnięta, a przede wszystkim wszystko zostało sprawnie podane. Nie musiałyśmy długo czekać na jedzenie.Zamówiłyśmy fish & chips z groszkiem i sałatką, było naprawdę smaczne, świeże i dobrze przygotowane. Sehr cooles Restaurant&Bar. Die Bar wie in Irland üblich klassisch und gut bestückt. Die Küche ausgezeichnet. Wir hatten Cajun spiced Seehecht mit Smoked Fries und einem kleinen Caesar Salad und als zweites ein Jambalaya (mit Garnelen, Krabben, Fischfiletwürfel und Wurstscheibchen). Bisher eins der besten Gerichte, die wir in Irland gegessen haben. Wenn wir nochmals nach Kilkenny kommen, dann auf jeden Fall wieder hier zum Essen! Einzig die AC war sehr kühl eingestellt, aber das war verkraftbar. We had a great meal here the other night. Fresh and delicious! Was just what we needed after a busy day of site seeing Have been here a few times and it never fails to deliver. Food is always excellent, staff super friendly and helpful.Will 100% be back for more pulled pork or Brisket burgers and the odd pint !!! Patrick R.

Great food and the staff where so good. We had a lovely meal good staff Great place. We are traveling from Vancouver (Coquitlam to be exact) Canada and have stopped in Kilkenny for one night. Came across Paris Texas Bar and we are glad we did. Great people, great food and great beer. Great place to socialise. Wonderful and armed of food and drinks. Friendly service with good atmosphere. As Americans we were curious to see what kind of food they would serve. I had a good selection and it was very tasty. We like some of the mashups they did with foods that we would normally eat together. Nice bar/restaurant at the back. Lovely staff and good food/drinks. Lourdes González L.

Went for a bite to eat last week while I was traveling through Ireland. I got this place recommended by a Smithwick's Experience employee and he was right! The food was great. We both had the large mixed grill. I had the brisket, ribs and chicken wings. Mac and cheese and onions on the side. My dad had brisket, ribs and pulled pork, mac and cheese and mushrooms on the side. We loved everything we ordered. The meat was tender and flavourful, the mac and cheese was nice and creamy, the onions were crispy. The staff was lovely and very welcoming. Thank you for giving us such a wonderful evening. Our condolences to the staff and owner regarding recent tragedy. Our hearts go out to you. This place is so cool and well decorated inside, food is unbelievable, 5 different meals on the table and they were unreal! I would recommend the Hake and the Fried Ice Cream! Bloody fantastic 👏 flew in from australia and best meal I've eaten since being here! Great food, great atmosphere, really would recommend when in Killkenny Ireland 🇮🇪 The Bespoke Flooring Company L.

One of the best pubs in Kilkenny! Great food and one of the best Guinness in town 
Our History
Following many visits to the southern states of Georgia, the Carolinas and Louisiana we are convinced that there is something special in this food that Irish people will love as much as we do. American Barbecue food is perfect with beer and perfect for casual dining in a bar – and it is fun! Then the French / Cajun influence of New Orleans adds a bit of finesse to ensure there is something for everyone.
To guarantee that you get the ‘real deal’ in American food our American chef has brought his unique recipes to Paris Texas and prepares them with specialist equipment including our wood smoker, broiler and char-grill which have been imported from Texas. Our dishes are prepared to suit all palates. A feature of smoked meats is that they are dry-rubbed or marinated first. As a result some of our dishes are both smokey and spicy but many are not. Some are delicately smoked (like our lamb sirloin) while others are stronger, like our ribs. But pork loves smoke – try the pulled pork to prove it for yourself!
We use all the local suppliers and ingredients that we can but for authenticity some things are imported – ghost peppers for our hottest ‘loco caliente’ sauce being a good example.
An extensive range of beers on tap
Paris Texas has an extensive range of beers on tap and in bottle to meet and challenge your tastes – just as our food does. We also pride ourselves on our range of spirits, particularly whiskeys, rums, gins and vodkas. All these spirits encourage experimentation so we probably have a cocktail with your name on it. Some even use our home-made lemonade. We also offer all our specially selected wines, including prosecco, by the glass as well as bottle.
So if you want to experience ‘real deal’ American southwest cuisine and a genuine Irish welcome we think you have made the right choice. Our team are always on hand to help you with menu choices and suggestions that will suit your mood today.
